Suspend EU-Israel Association Agreement - The Petition Site

thepetitionsite.com — We call on the EU to suspend trade with Israel until it respects human rights and International Law. The EU is Israel's biggest importer of goods, and its second biggest exporter. In 2006 the total traded between the EU and Israel amounted to 23.5 BILLION Euros. The EU-Israel Association Agreement forms the legal basis for this trading http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/Suspend-EU-Israel-Trade-Agreement

Please sign this petition too, calling for the release of Marwan Barghouthi & all Palestinian Prisoners and send it to as many people as possible... http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/free_barghouthi/

Lift Travel Restrictions on Palestinian Journalist

Mr Amayreh was granted an entry visa to Germany. However, the Israeli military authorities have refused to give him a permit to leave the West Bank. No Palestinian can travel abroad without receiving such a permit beforehand, otherwise he or she would be turned back once arriving at the Israeli-controlled border terminal at the Allenby Bridge. http://www.petitiononline.com/k1h2a3l4/petition-sign.html

FFIPP-I Petition on the bombing of the Islamic University in Gaza

December 30, 2008

The present Israeli devastation of Gaza is the culmination of years of
a suffocating siege: together they sow death and suffering to an
appalling, insufferable extent. Israeli policy, having already provoked
a vicious cycle of attacks, retaliation, and counter-attacks by Hamas,
now has escalated. Current military action includes the direct shelling
of the Islamic University in Gaza. Israeli bombers have destroyed the
main laboratory buildings and damaged six other buildings, including
the library, lecture halls and the student cafeteria.
As academics, students, and intellectuals, we condemn the Israeli
attack on the Islamic University and call for an immediate cessation of
all military and violent actions by both sides. We demand an end to the
siege on the Gaza strip and full protection and guarantee of the
freedom of education.

Please spread wide and far.

End EU Support for Israeli Attacks

Israel is inflicting further misery on Palestinians. The situation in Gaza has reached emergency levels – there is not enough food, electricity, medicine, or even water due to Israel’s siege. In the West bank, Israel is expanding its illegal settlements, imprisoning Palestinians behind a 400 mile long Wall, and killing peaceful protesters.

The EU response has been shameful. The EU tacitly supports Israel’s brutal siege of Gaza and has granted important trading privileges to Israel under the Euro-Med Agreement. This is despite Israel’s violation of the human rights clause of this agreement. Recently the EU has rewarded Israeli aggression by upgrading EU-Israel relations, a huge step towards integrating Israeli into EU agencies and markets.

To the EU Commission, Molesworth Street:

We call upon the EU to:
• Demand Israel abides by International Law, including a complete withdrawal from Gaza and the West Bank.

• Suspend the Euro-Med Agreement until Israel abides by its human rights clauses.

• Reverse the recent upgrade of relations with Israel

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Bring Israeli War Criminals to Justice

We the undersigned call upon the UK government to fulfill its responsibilities as a high contracting party to the 4th Geneva Convention, and

To immediately institute a war crimes investigation in the UK into Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip between 27th December 2008 and 18th January 2009 and for the UK prosecuting authorities to search out and prosecute (or extradite for trial elsewhere) all suspected war criminals identified by the investigation; and
To seek a binding resolution at the UN Security Council to establish an international commission of inquiry into the Gaza attacks and the referral of potential cases to the International Criminal Court.’

Protest EU Policy on Gaza

To: European Union
January 26, 2009

Touring some of Gaza's worst-hit areas of Israel's 22-day assault which killed about 1,300 Palestinians, including 400 children, Louis Michel, a senior EU official and former Belgian foreign minister, described the situation as "abominable, indescribable". He then added:

"At this time we have to also recall the overwhelming responsibility of Hamas. I intentionally say this here - Hamas is a terrorist movement and it has to be denounced as such."

He then went on to state that there would be no dialogue with Hamas, saying its use of terrorism against Israeli civilians, including the use of "human shields" in Gaza meant it was not a legitimate resistance movement. He called on Hamas to recognize Israel's right to exist and to renounce violence.

We the signators of this petition are shocked, appalled and outraged by these comments.

They are the moral equivalent of rubbing salt into the wounds of the people of Gaza.

We demand the immediate ouster of Louis Michel from his position as EU Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid. We also demand a public apology be immediately given to the people of Gaza, especially to those who have lost members of their family in Israel's 22-day attack on Gaza.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

A Little Fun At BBC's Expense????
To members of Action4palestine
Arlo Silvera

OK pps, this is going to be FUN! Why? because Avaaz have adopted this appeal... What is unique about Avaaz is that it has this little bit of technology which no other petition site has that enables to pass the message on to your entire email address book with just one click. I have been on at them for months to do smth for Gaza - it is sad that they have waited this long but....

If like me you have literally thousands of addresses on your machine, beware! This might crash your machine but messages will be sent - you only need to click once. Actually, (& God, I'm a clever bar steward!) I've just had a little brainwave.... On the editable message that it will automatically send to your friends (& all those Israeli officials, hhhh) why not post a link to Iqbal's petition too? (Come to think of it, I'll just add link to this very thread.)

just follow the link below to send your own message urging the BBC to broadcast the appeal, and forward this email to friends and family -- let's deluge them with tens of thousands of messages this week:

Plz, spread this message or Avaaz link at least, regards to all, Arlo
