Palestinian news sources have described that the existence of a video was truly behind the Palestinian Authority’s decision to withdraw support for the draft resolution (i.e Goldstone Report) from the UN Human Rights Council on violations in the recent Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
The news sources said that a meeting took place in Washington recently, between the representatives of the Palestinian Authority and Israeli delegation on the situation of the report, sources pointed out that representatives initially rejected the Israeli request not to pass on the report, and kept their position, until the Colonel Eli Avraham threatened to display a video file of a dialogue which took place between Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak in the presence of the former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.
According to the same sources,
Abbas appeared in the video trying to persuade Barack to continue the war on Gaza.
Sources pointed out that Ofarham also introduced to the delegation of authority to record a telephone conversation between the Director of the Office of the Israeli Chiefs of Staff Dov Weisglass and Tayeb Abdel Rahim, secretary general of the Palestinian presidency, who said that conditions are ripe and ready to have the Israeli army enter Jabalia and the beach, adding that the fall of the camps will end the rule of the the Islamic Resistance (Hamas) in Gaza Strip, and to pay for them to raise the white flag.
According to the registration call Weisglass told Tayeb Abdel Rahim that this will cause the fall of thousands of civilians, Abdul Rahim replied, that
“all of them elected Hamas, so they have chosen their own destiny, not us.“
The same sources said that the Israeli delegation threatened the representatives with the presentation material recorded before the United Nations and the media, prompting the delegation of authority to approve the Israeli request.
Abbas wrote a written pledge not to approve the granting of a license to any State who chooses to adopt the Goldstone report.
Cell phone deal
Maariv newspaper stated that the withdrawal of the Goldstone report to the Palestinian Authority aided Abbas in trying hold a new cellular network in the West Bank “national”, which will have the son of Mahmoud Abbas in charge.
The paper quoted a senior security source that the Israeli army against the creation of new cellular network claiming they collide broadcast waves, but the Israeli army stated that “Palestinian officials were told that if they withdrew their support for the report of the Goldstone will receive assistance in the payment of interest for the establishment of a second cellular network in the West Bank” .
Al Jazeera and Palestinian sources close to Abbas stated ahead of the vote on the UN report last Friday that the Palestinian Authority will withdraw its recognition of the report.
Israel was required to withdraw days before the Palestinian Authority agreed on the report, which condemns Israel of committing war crimes during its war in Gaza in return for allowing Palestinian telecommunications company and give it a new work necessary frequencies.
Gaza War
In the context and purpose of confirming the information agency referred to the Shahab-Israeli Maariv newspaper on 11/5/2009, about statements IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi that the Palestinian Authority represented by its president, Mahmoud Abbas went to war with Israel in Gaza.
Ashkenazi sent a letter to the Attorney General of the Israeli Government, in this letter it was revealed that the PA held unprecedented cooperation between the Israeli army – represented by President Abbas in Gaza during the war.
The authority of Ramallah pressed Israel to topple Hamas before the war began, they also referred to a document prepared in Livni’s office which revealed the exercise of elements of Palestinian high-level pressure on Israel to drop the rule of Hamas in Gaza.
The Palestinian Authority paid the Israeli occupation strongly to start the implementation of Operation Cast Lead and any efforts which would cause striking at Hamas, prompting the Israeli Foreign Ministry for the detection of the document is initiated by the figures in the Palestinian Authority in the wake of the lead cast, to begin to investigate the crimes of Israeli leaders war committed during the war.
There are statements linked to the Shahab-Ashkenazi given to Channel2 on Israeli television, wherein he said for the first time during that time that,
“Israel and the Ramallah authority fought side by side during the lead cast in the Gaza Strip.”
Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman threatened the Palestinian Authority, saying that he would disclose its role in the war on Gaza, if it insists on continuing to support the Goldstone report.
The Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz has stressed in previous articles that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s decision to ask the Human Rights Council of the United Nations to postpone discussion of the report of the Goldstone, was based on U.S. pressure.
The decision to postpone the Richard Goldstone UN report has sparked outrage and anger among all bodies outside and within Palestinian factions, including the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) headed by Abbas. This move by Abbas also raised the wrath and censure of human rights organizations.
To conclude:
The Palestinian Authority worked with Israel hand-in-hand in order to induce suffering under the guise of fighting the democratically elected government of Hamas.
Abbas worked with Israel according to recordings obtained thus he is,beyond a reason of a doubt, a de-facto accessory to the crimes of Operation Cast Lead .
The iron bars are starting to bend and soon we shall see the coming of the strongest uprising in Palestinian history:
The Third Intifada.
